Marketing Assistant Part Time

GoCanvas is on the lookout for a talented marketing intern to support our advanced online and offline marketing efforts, especially around content and SEO, to engage our prospects and customers. We want you to understand the right nurture tracks to provide incremental value and nudge our leads towards sale in a way that feels human and still converts. We also need you to understand the right types of content to get in front of the right people at the right time, both for lead nurturing and to boost the sharing of our content. Part of this role is also keeping close tabs on existing and new competitors as we constantly look at how we differentiate our marketing efforts and services.

Your mission will involve working with other marketing team members on areas such as:

  • Assist with event marketing and trade show initiatives
  • Leveraging data to test and optimize content for search engines and users to increase signups and qualified leads
  • Creating compelling content (e.g., blog posts, email copy, one-pagers, etc) that resonates throughout the wide variety of industries our prospects work in
  • Data gathering and intelligence to better understand customer personas

The ideal candidate is seeking to gain valuable experience in one of the fastest growing, high tech companies in the Washington, DC area. The candidate should be willing to commit to a 3-month internship, including coming to the GoCanvas office at least 2-3 days per week.

Thanks to our flat organizational structure, you’ll be reporting to and working very closely with our VP of Marketing to help GoCanvas in its top of funnel programs. Given our extremely collaborative environment, you’ll be most successful working in our Reston headquarters on a daily basis having face-to-face contact with our marketing and sales teams to fulfill our customers’ expectations. You’ll need to be well organized, hungry to learn the ins and outs of marketing and get your hands dirty, sales aware and able to balance and prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced, environment.

Your Most Important Initiatives

  • Content/SEO
  • Assist with optimizing past content (app pages, blog posts) using our machine-learning platform, MarketMuse
  • Misc content creation and categorization
  • Trade shows/Event marketing
  • Assist with preparing items and team for upcoming events
  • Keep track of relevant trade show statistics and data and update dashboards accordingly
  • Competitive Analysis
  • Execute on ad hoc competitor research requests that come in through our #competitive slack channel. Work with team to identify process and how to share findings.

Misc

  • Work with marketing and sales teams to research customer data and append industry and job title information as needed
  • Assist with paid marketing analysis of demographic information
  • Assist with monitoring key metrics,prepaid advertising and marketing automation
  • Assist with scheduling and coordinating interviews with customers for case studies
  • Create a plan to document your experience so you can create content about this to be used in future GoCanvas recruiting efforts

What You Bring

  • A genuine passion for disruptive technology and unlocking customer value
  • Proficient writing skills and a willingness to learn how to write best for a variety of channels (email, web/SEO, social, etc)
  • Prior marketing experience (internship, entrepreneur activities, etc)
  • Willingness to take initiative to help as needed and take on new projects with enthusiasm
  • Proficient PC-based computer skills with MS Office and Google Apps Suite
  • The desire to make an impact and make everyone around you more productive
  • Highly effective communication skills and experience interacting with customers at all levels, including the executive level
  • Energy, enthusiasm and a motivation to learn and grow in a rapidly growing company
