GoCanvas is on the lookout for an extremely talented Senior UI Developer who has a passion and excitement for mobile devices and the mobile revolution. Your mission is to develop and improve the GoCanvas platform, helping make our vision for the GoCanvas product become a reality and unleashing the power of data for our tens of thousands of customers around the globe.  Working within a small yet very innovative team environment, you’ll be doing incredibly meaningful work by ensuring GoCanvas continues to innovate and create highly scalable software systems for increased efficiency through each release.

Given our extremely collaborative environment and daily stand ups, you will be most successful working in our Reston headquarters on a daily basis having face-to-face contact with our team of developers, QA testers, designers, and project managers. A familiarity with Agile methodologies and process would be very helpful. Having a degree in Computer Science and 4-6 years of experience, preferably in a high tech start up, is preferable for this position.

Job Description

We are looking for a Front-End Web Developer who is motivated to combine the art of design with the art of programming. Responsibilities will include translation of the UI/UX design wireframes to actual code that will produce visual elements of the application. You will work with the UI/UX designer and bridge the gap between graphical design and technical implementation, taking an active role on both sides and defining how the application looks as well as how it works.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop new user-facing features
  • Build reusable code and libraries for future use
  • Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs
  • Optimize application for maximum speed and scalability
  • Assure that all user input is validated before submitting to back-end
  • Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders

Skills And Qualifications

  • 6+ years of strong experience working in UI frameworks preferably with Product development and start up experience
  • Strong experience with one of these frameworks- Angular, React, JavaScript and JavaScript web frameworks
  • Proficient understanding of web markup, including HTML5, CSS3
  • Basic understanding of serverside CSS pre-processing platforms, such as LESS and SASS
  • Experience with architecting Single Page Applications (SPAs) using common design patterns
  • Proficient understanding of crossbrowser compatibility issues and ways to work around them.
  • Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git/GitBucket
  • Good understanding of SEO principles and ensuring that application will adhere to them.
